A Platypus in the City
The CBD of Sydney is covered with wonderful street art and sculptures the most prominent is the Tank Stream Fountain located at the corner of George and Alfred Streets in Circular Quay. The fountain was created in 1981 by the artist Stephen Walker. The fountain features native animals such as platypus, turtles and cormorant bird.
Street art culture has been growing around the inner west of sydney for many years and locations such as Newtown are full of alleyways covered with brilliant designs. Some platypus street artwork I found in Newtown and Stanmore alleyways are below.

Camden a city about an hour southwest from Sydney also features some platypus street art with a lovely platypus feature on the stairway located by the Nepean river at the little Sandy Bridge within the Chellaston Reserve in Camden. The artwork was created by local First Nations artist Danielle Mate. The platypus is the mascot of Camden and has been spotted in the Nepean River too.
