Platypuseal at Narooma

Narooma is a beautiful southcoast town popular with tourists. I visited there to see the local mural at the Apex park painted by local students at Narooma High school. The mural features Australian animals such as numbat, emu, kangaroo, koala, cockatoos, galahs, kookaburras, wallaby, possum, wombat and platypus. It also includes whales, stingrays, turtles and fish that are found along the coast.

Along with beautiful streetart in Narooma there are also great places to visit to see wildlife like the Australian and New zealand fur seals. The Mill bay boardwalk offers a wonderful walk from the heart of town to Apex park in North Narooma and you can see the sleeping seal in Apex park that is not bothered by on lookers. Popular other destinations to visit are the Australian Rock which is on Narooma beach which is a rock in the shape of Australia as seen below.

Montague Island or known as Barunguba by the local Yuin people the traditional owners of the land is a must to visit too. The best times to go are between September and November as this is when little penguins can be seen nesting on the island. Crested terns and silver gulls also inhabit the island and a fur seal colony both Australian and New Zealand are residents of the island too. I traveled with the local company Narooma charters to see the island and the light house I highly recommend them.

Below is more footage I filmed of my visit to Narooma.
