Nature in Narellan

Spring has sprung and platypus breeding season is upon us too.  My next journey took me not so far from home to the town of Narellan, an hour South West from Sydney New South Wales Australia.  Narellan is located on Dharawal and Gundungurra land.  My reason for visiting was to see the mural created by artist Samuel Hall on one of the buildings at Narallen Public school. The mural faces out onto the street so is great that the public can see this beautiful artwork as well. The mural features a Platypus, Galah and a Sulphur crested cockatoo local fauna known within the area.  Check out Samuel Hall's website here. Check out my other post here with another beautiful mural by Samuel Hall.

Narellan town centre located on the main street of Narellan features a wonderful outdoor display of a fountain and a beautiful sculpture of a Banksia seed pod which is a homage to the endangered Elderslie banksia scrub forest community which is an ecological community of a range of species unique to the area. Read more about the rare ecological community here . Read more about the history of Narellan here.
