Fan of Frankston
Friendly Frankston
Frankston has had a history of a bad reputation being associated as an area of crime, however this wasn't the case with me, I found the area friendly, had a cool vintage clothing shop (Eliza Doolittle) and a lovely collection of street art. You can download a street art map for Frankston here. Frankston resides on the traditional land of the Bunurong people. The Frankston foreshore and Kananook Creek area were significant food resource places with a plentiful supply of seafood and saltwater plants as well as freshwater fish and eels.

Gallery lane
Gallery lane is located a short walk from Frankston train station. The lane way features some beautiful pieces including a stunning purple platypus created by Mike Makatron. The piece was created for the Big picture fest 2019.
Another lovely platypus themed artwork in gallery lane was created by legendary hip-hop culture artist Mistery. He has been on the scene since the early days of Melbourne street art. This piece was done for Frankston's Big Picture Fest as well.
A wonderful First Nations Mural by First Nations artist Michelle Kerrin and street artist Adnate (2022) is on the wall along the Wilson parking lot located next to Gallery lane. It features a Wamba Wamba/ Bunurong Elder Aunty Elaine Taylor and her
granddaughter Justine Taylor, 7 years old. The artwork is called Generational Knowledge and is about the importance of continuing to share knowledge through the generations within First Nations culture.
Another lovely mural within gallery lane was created by Lucy Boninn and depicts the artists memories of playful childhood wonder and imagination.

Final thoughts
Frankston is a lovely town and I only got a short taste of it but hope to go back to visit the Frankston pier and see more of the great street art there.
The purple platy is a cool piece of street art, but the one of Lucy Bonnin with her as child is my fav - really amazing!
