Brewing a Platypus

Coffee saves the day

I had originally planned to make a trip to a platypus street art mural but sadly once I got there it was no longer there, even after doing my research (via google street view) it seemed the mural must have been replaced sometime between January 2022 and now (September 2023). However I still didn't want to waste a day and still collect some platypus art. I remembered that the Australian coffee brand Normcore coffee roasters (est.2016) was located at 209 Castlereagh Street Sydney (Gadigal Country) their other store is located 14 Brown Street Ashfield.  The Normcore coffee logo is of a platypus on a coffee bean, this is adorable but also the company chose it to represent their values on the environment, society, and sustainability due the fact the platypus is an endangered species.  I had been wanting to check out their store for a while so this was a good opportunity. Sadly I arrived close to closing time so their kitchen had closed, but I ordered a well needed coffee. Having ordered a large flat white, the lady was very nice to swap over the cups for me so I could have one of the coffee cups with their logo on it (the jumbo coffee cup).  It was a delicious coffee and was great to see a combination of two of my favourite things Platypus and coffee.  I highly recommend their coffee and I will be back again to try their food too. Check out their website here. (Not sponsored I just love good coffee)
