Kool things in Kyabram

Community Garden

Kyabram is a the second largest town in the Campaspe region.  It is located in central northern Victoria Australia. Kyabram resides on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung; and Yorta Yorta people.  The name of the town is believed to originate from a First Nations word Kiambram meaning Thick Forest.  A community garden located within W.J Wood Reserve on Lake Road contains a collection of lovely murals and sculptures including the wonderful platypus sculpture by Mark Niglia.

Footpath art

Located on the main street of Kyabram in Allan street are four footpath designs depicting a platypus, kangaroo, goanna and a murray cod.  These can be found near the corner of Allan and Union street. I'm unaware of the who the artist is.

Steel Bin art

Similar style to the footpath art are Indigenous animal designs on Steel bins within the town. They feature a platypus, goanna, kangaroo and murray cod.

Town Hall Gallery

The local Town Hall is a beautiful building originally known as Kyabram Mechanics’ Institute (1891). Today the building is home to a gallery featuring local artists. It is located at 199 Allan Street.  The current exhibition A is for Animals featured a lovely artwork of a platypus by Terry Butler. Check out the art gallery's website here.

Water Tank

A wonderful water tank mural designed by Jimmy DVATE is located on the Corner of Drum & Tulloh Street. It features a tribute to wetlands and endangered animals. Read more about it here.

Fauna Park

Kyabram has it's own fauna park featuring native and exotic animals. It is a great place to visit and explore. Check out their website here.
