Beautiful Bright

 


 Ovens River

Bright is a beautiful scenic town located in the Alpine Region of Victoria Australia. It i famous for it's colourul Autumn leaves during Autumn. Bright is located on the traditional lands of the Dhudhuroa, Taungurung, Waywurru, Gunaikurnai and Jaithmathang people. The Ovens River flows through Bright and the Canyon walk is a lovely easy stroll along the river.

 Mike Makatron

A beautiful mural created by Melbourne Artist Mike Makatron was recently painted under the pylon on the Star Road bridge it features a platypus and a Rakali.

 






Parks Victoria Mural

Besides the state parks building in Bright (next to the old court house) at 4 Park Street is a lovely mural called Alpine Wonders, featuring an endangered Eucalyptus Gum Moth. This mural was created by artist Kirrily Anderson.






Bright Football and Netball Club Mural

A nature inspired and cycling them mural is located on the toilet block at the Pioneer Recreation Park. It features a magpie, scarlet breasted robin and some local children cycling and paragliding. It was created by young Teen artist Dylan Jenkins who worked with Melbourne-based street artist AJ Tan.

 










 

Howitt Park Mural

A beautiful parrot themed mural is on the sorrel sound stage within Howitt park it was created by artist Kade Sarte. The Howitt Park also is filled with a number of parrots and other bird life.







 

Poet's Corner

A lovely poem is beside the Uniting church on the corner of Ireland and Bourke Street.  It was written by poet Bill Spinks (1923-1987).


 


Street Pole Mural

A cool leaning Tower of Pisa mural is painted on the street pole at Barnard Street outside Le Blanche Ice Creamery another Art Nouveau style Mural is on the side of the Le Blanche Ice Creamery too. I'm unsure who the artist is.






Library Mural and Sculpture

A book designed seat commemorating the 150th anniversary of Bright is located outside Bright Library located at 14 Ireland street it was created by High Country Forge . A cute Australian Fauna mural is on the wall of the children's section of the library too. I am unaware of the artist.

Final Thoughts 

Bright is a charming town, the mix of nature and boutique cafes and shops is lovely. The Gum tree Pies shop is also a must to visit when you are in town.

  1. Wow... that's all awesome murals here, couldn't even pick a fav. Makatron's platy piece is super pretty, the leaning tower of pisa design on the pole is clever - and that little mural in Bright Library is cute af :-)
