Bondi Beach is an Australian icon and is known around as the beach to visit when you come to Australia. It became popular for its surfing culture and is visited by both tourists and locals. Bondi resides on the traditional lands of the Bidjigal, Birrabirragal, and Gadigal people.

Bondi Graffiti Wall
Bondi street art on the sea wall starting at Queen Elizabeth drive started back in the 1970s displaying political messages and art. In the past it was illegal to do art on the wall but it became an legal art wall and features art from both local and international artists. The wall is constantly changing and artists can apply to paint a panel the artwork then is up for about 6 months. There are two permanent artworks however a mural commemorating a local woman Chloe Byron an others people lost in the tragic Bali bombings in 2006 and the other mural is an ANZAC memorial. You can view past artworks of the wall here. Below are some of my favourites.
Another artist whose work I saw while walking Bondi was Steen Jones a collaborative piece with Alex Lehours is featured on the Noahs backpackers building at 2-12 Campbell Parade. Another of his works is featured on the walls of the Up South cafe at 249 Bondi Road.

Hunter Park
On the walk back from Bondi Beach to the Bondi Junction train station I passed Hunter Park on the corner of Bondi Road & Sandridge Street which features some lovely sculptures. Bondi is home to the annual Bondi sculpture by the sea which is a coastal walk from Bondi Beach to Tamarama beach held around October each year. I think maybe these sculptures are some of the sculptures from previous Bondi sculpture by the sea.
Cute Dogs
One of the highlights was seeing all the cute dogs being walked around Bondi Beach. Below is two cute Pomeranian's I meet at Hunter Park.
Final Thoughts
Bondi is a relaxing place to visit and the added street art, cafe culture and dog spotting were a highlight.
